Antique Carved Wood Architectural Pediment

A substantial antique carved wood pediment with beautifully sweeping scrollwork, a prominent central floral rosette, and a rich, time-worn dark finish.

At approximately 50 inches wide, this is a true architectural statement piece. Its generous scale and sculptural carving make it especially striking displayed above a doorway, bed, mantel, tapestry, or large painting. Layered with artwork or textiles, it brings the depth and character of an old European interior to an otherwise simple wall.

Likely crafted in walnut or a similar dark hardwood, the piece has developed a wonderfully aged surface with warm areas of exposed wood and authentic wear throughout.

Antique condition consistent with age and previous use. Visible surface wear, scratches, scuffs, finish loss, age-related cracks and separations, and small losses along the outer edges. Evidence of previous construction or mounting is present on the reverse, including attached wood blocks.
